Reincubate wins King’s Award for Innovation for its work on Camo
It’s a special day for the team at Reincubate – our work building Camo has been recognised with a King’s Award for Enterprise in the area of innovation. We’re thrilled to feature on the list of outstanding UK organisations for the third time, having been included previously for our work on iPhone Backup Extractor. It’s a milestone that gives us the opportunity to pause and appreciate the journey that got us here, as well as the support from our users and collaborators.
For those who aren’t familiar with the landscape of UK business honours, the King’s Awards are the highest official award a British company can receive. Included on the list of recipients, awarded by the King, and recommended by the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee, are organisations that have made outstanding contributions to innovation, international trade, sustainability and social mobility. The awards are granted annually; this year being announced on May 6th, the anniversary of the King’s coronation.
Innovation is the bedrock of our company values. It enables us to deliver delightful experiences to our users by crafting straightforward solutions to challenging problems, and to do so in a sustainable way – reducing e-waste by putting an old phone to use as a webcam, maximising efficiency by taking advantage of specialised hardware built into modern devices, or safeguarding user privacy through on-device AI processing and offline-first app architecture.
As Aidan Fitzpatrick, our CEO, said: “It’s an honour to receive recognition for our work on innovation in Camo, an area the team put tremendous effort into and a key aspect of the app’s success. It lets us know we’re on the right track, and drives us on to tackle the next challenge alongside our users and partners.”
We're fortunate to work with a broad range of partners from across the industry, including hardware manufacturers, operating system vendors, and other software developers. From getting featured on stage at Microsoft Build to being among the first to integrate the latest processor technologies, our collaborations help inspire us to stay at the cutting edge.
There’s lots more ahead for Camo. Next up is a return to Seattle for Microsoft Build later this month, and we're looking forward to the ceremony at Windsor Palace with King Charles III later this summer. Thanks once again to you, our community, and our users, for being a part of the Camo journey.
