For almost a year, I've been struggling to find a great web camera solution that works for Zoom/Meet/Facetime. Part of me wondered, why isn't there just a way to use the spectacular camera on my iPhone when I'm using my iMac?

Instead of spending $2K+ for a DSLR setup, you can use your iPhone as a webcam, in just a few minutes!

It's MASSIVELY better than the FaceTime camera.

Over Zoom, it's hard to see the difference between a iPhone 11 Pro and a DSLR:

Got my Camo beta invite and did some quick performance testing. Uses WAY less CPU than what I currently use and is much easier to set up. 🎊
Will definitely be adding this to my videoconferencing guide as the recommended webcam solution. 👍

Camo Studio free *humiliates* any webcam I've ever tried, including the embedded 1080p one on my previous workplace's LG Ultrafine 5k.

And this is with the free version, using an old iPhone SE.

I can't imagine how good the image can be with Camo pro on an iphone 12 pro 🤯🤯

This is so true. An ancient iPhone 5s, released in 2013 (!) that had been sitting in my drawer is producing a better image now via @reincubate Camo than a pricey Logitech Brio webcam that I had purchased (and have since returned).

Been using Camo studio on my Mac Mini to give me a webcam and officially love the app. I use my 12 Pro Max main camera for a webcam and it looks better than any webcam on the market! Super easy to use too. Highly recommend it if you wanna step up your zoom game.

Camo is an elegant and simple solution to the common problem of poor webcam quality, despite us carrying around high-quality cameras in our mobile devices.

Whether in the education, telehealth, or work-related communication spheres, a high-quality stream allows us to convey facial expression and body language in a more meaningful way. This has become critical as we try to work remotely though the COVID19 pandemic.

The app is powerful yet very easy to use.

Having almost never taught lessons remotely before, our school has moved to teaching a full timetable online. That’s over 1500 hours a week of online lessons!

The key has been to continually improve, learn how to get better, and make sure our teaching was as good as possible. Camo has helped us with this - by helping us use phones as webcams. This sounds such a simple thing - however it’s meant a huge amount.

Firstly phones have a much higher resolution camera than standard laptop webcams meaning the lessons are HD perfect.

Secondly, the throw distance of a phone camera is much greater than that of a webcam, meaning it won’t go out of focus when presenting practicals or at the board.

Thirdly, there’s a much greater degree of flexibility when using Camo - allowing you to change the zoom, the camera being used, the resolution and the colour of the image.

In short, Camo has helped us look more professional, and given us greater flexibility when teaching.
