분실한 스크린 타임 암호를 제거하거나 복구하는 방법

이 과정은 iOS 기기에서 스크린 타임을 해제하며, 원하면 같은 Apple ID를 사용하는 다른 모든 iOS 기기와 Mac에서도 해제합니다. 암호도 함께 재설정되므로 스크린 타임을 다시 켜면 새 암호를 정하라는 안내가 표시됩니다.

여기 나오는 스크린샷은 iOS 14 기준이지만, 1~3단계를 진행하면 이전 iOS 버전에도 알맞은 절차가 자동으로 실행됩니다.

iPhone Backup Extractor를 다운로드하여 설치(Windows 및 Mac에서 사용 가능)한 다음 실행하세요.
USB 케이블로 iPhone 또는 iPad를 연결하고 iPhone Backup Extractor의 왼쪽 메뉴에서 기기를 선택하세요.
“Utilities” 탭을 선택하고 “Screen Time recovery”를 클릭하세요. 다음 단계를 안내하는 마법사가 열립니다.

iPhone Backup Extractor의 “Screen Time recovery” 옵션

마법사가 iPhone에서 Apple의 “나의 찾기” 서비스를 일시적으로 해제하라고 안내합니다. Settings → [iCloud account name] → Find My → Find my iPhone에서 해제할 수 있으며, 이때 Apple ID 암호가 필요합니다. 과정이 끝나면 다시 켤 수 있습니다. (iCloud 계정에서 기기를 제거할 필요는 없습니다.)

“Let’s start” 버튼을 클릭하세요. 잠시 후 iPhone이 다시 시작되고, 완료되면 스크린 타임 암호가 더 이상 설정되어 있지 않습니다.

다음은 iPhone이 다시 시작을 마치는 모습을 보여 주는 영상입니다. 다시 시작하는 동안 Mac에서도 스크린 타임이 해제됩니다.

이제 모두 끝났습니다. 기기의 설정에서 “나의 찾기”를 다시 켜는 것을 잊지 마세요.

스크린 타임 암호를 분실했을 때의 Apple 안내

스크린 타임 암호를 분실했을 때 Apple은 기기를 지우고 초기화한 다음 새 데이터로 처음부터 다시 시작할 것을 안내합니다. Apple은 다음과 같이 설명합니다.

기기 잠금 해제에 사용하는 암호와 다른 암호를 선택하세요. 이전 버전의 iOS 또는 iPadOS에서 설정한 제한 암호를 기억하지 못하거나 스크린 타임 암호를 잊은 경우에는 기기를 지운 다음 새로운 기기로 설정해야 암호를 제거할 수 있습니다. 백업에서 기기를 복원해도 암호는 제거되지 않습니다.

엄밀히 말하면 이 설명이 완전히 정확하지는 않습니다. 백업이 암호를 설정하기 전에 만들어졌고 또한 스크린 타임 설정에서 “기기 간에 공유”가 켜져 있지 않았다면, 백업에서 복원할 때 암호는 제거됩니다.

일부 Apple Store의 지니어스는 iPhone Backup Extractor를 추천하기도 하지만, Apple의 Twitter 지원팀은 항상 초기화를 권합니다. 이 방법도 통하지만 사용자의 모든 데이터가 사라지고 iPhone 또는 iPad를 처음부터 다시 설정해야 합니다.

Apple ID로 스크린 타임 암호를 제거하는 방법

iOS 13.3을 사용하는 일부 기기에서는 스크린 타임을 켤 때 Apple ID를 입력하라는 안내가 표시되며, 이는 암호를 잊었을 때 자동으로 복구할 수 있게 하기 위한 것입니다. iOS는 “Apple ID를 입력하지 않으면 암호를 입력하지 않고는 스크린 타임 설정을 변경할 수 없습니다”라고 안내합니다.

이 설정은 Settings → Screen Time → Use Screen Time passcode에서 확인할 수 있습니다.

스크린 타임 암호를 추가할 때 이 옵션을 사용했다면, 암호를 잊은 사용자가 이 방법을 쓸 수 있습니다. Settings → Screen Time → Turn Off Screen Time 또는 Settings → Screen Time → Change Screen Time Passcode → Turn Off Screen Time Passcode에서 스크린 타임을 끄려고 하면 안내가 표시됩니다.

iOS 14 또는 13에서 스크린 타임 암호를 수동으로 제거하는 방법

백업 복원 방식은 스크린 타임 암호를 설정하기 이전에 만든 백업이고 또한 스크린 타임 설정에서 “가족 공유”와 “기기 간에 공유”가 켜져 있지 않았던 경우에만 작동합니다. 확실하지 않다면 기존 백업에 의존하지 않는 위의 자동 방법을 권장합니다.

이 방식으로 암호를 제거할 때 영향을 주거나 iCloud에서 암호가 다시 전파되게 만들 수 있는 요소가 여러 가지 있습니다.

사용자의 iCloud 계정에서 “가족 공유”의 상태
“가족 공유” 사용자가 만 13세 미만으로 표시되어 있는지 여부
복원한 기기에서 스크린 타임 설정을 마무리하는지 여부
“기기 간에 공유”가 켜져 있는지 여부
계정에 iOS 13 이상 또는 macOS 10.15 이상 기기가 더 있는지 여부
복원하려는 백업의 OS 버전과 스크린 타임 구성
“콘텐츠 및 개인정보 보호 제한”에서 Account changes이(가) Not alllowed(으)로 설정되어 있는지 여부

하지만 대체로 백업에서 복원하고, “가족 공유”를 켜지 않고, 스크린 타임을 다시 켜지 않는다면 문제없을 것입니다.

최근에 만든 암호화된 iPhone 백업이 있는지 확인하세요.
진행하기 전에 Settings → [iCloud account name] → Find My → Find my iPhone에서 “나의 iPhone 찾기”를 끄세요.
USB 케이블로 iPhone을 iTunes에 연결하고 “iPhone 복원…”을 클릭하세요. 그러면 iTunes가 iPhone에 맞는 최신 펌웨어를 다운로드한 뒤 기기를 지우고 업데이트합니다. 이 작업을 하기 전에 반드시 백업이 있어야 합니다.

iTunes가 최근 백업이 있는지 다시 한번 확인합니다.

펌웨어 업그레이드가 끝나면 iTunes가 복원할 백업을 선택하라고 안내합니다. 앞서 만든 백업을 선택해 복원하세요. 복원이 끝나면 iPhone이 이전과 같은 상태가 되지만 스크린 타임 암호는 없어집니다.

iOS 12에서 스크린 타임 암호를 수동으로 제거하는 방법

iOS 12에서 Apple은 스크린 타임 암호를 사용자의 키체인에 저장합니다. 암호는 키체인에서 기기별로 분리된 영역에 저장되므로 사용자의 다른 Apple 기기와 동기화되지 않으며, 다른 기기를 통해 접근할 수도 없습니다. iPhone Backup Extractor를 사용하면 이 암호를 쉽게 복구할 수 있지만, 기기 키체인을 수동으로 복호화하고 추출하는 방법은 특히 복잡합니다.

수동 방법을 찾는 사용자에게는 iOS 13 안내를 따라 백업을 복원하는 방법을 권장합니다.

iOS 7‒11에서 제한 암호를 수동으로 제거하는 방법

iOS 7부터 11까지는 제한 암호를 PBKDF2 알고리즘으로 해시하여 백업에 저장합니다. 이를 풀려면 몇 가지 작업이 필요합니다. 해시를 얻으려면 기기 백업에서 com.apple.restrictionspassword.plist 파일을 추출해야 합니다. 이 파일은 iPhone Backup Extractor의 “Expert mode”에서 Home Domain → Library → Preferences 경로로 (무료로) 찾거나, 원본 398bc9c2aeeab4cb0c12ada0f52eea12cf14f40b 파일을 직접 복호화하여 찾을 수 있습니다.

파일을 구했다면 다음 값을 찾아보세요.

키와 솔트는 사용자의 암호에서 PBKDF2(으)로 생성되며, 무차별 대입으로 비교적 쉽게 풀 수 있습니다. 이 iOS 버전들의 제한 암호는 4자리뿐이라 시도할 조합이 10,000가지밖에 없습니다.

iOS 5‒6 백업에서 제한 암호를 수동으로 제거하는 방법(무료)

아래 안내에 따라 iPad 또는 iPhone의 제한 PIN을 1234(으)로 재설정할 수 있습니다. 이 방법으로 암호를 재설정하기로 했다면 다음 단계를 따르세요.

제한 암호가 켜져 있는 상태에서 iTunes로 백업을 만드세요. 수동으로 진행하는 작업이므로 백업이 암호화되어 있지 않은 편이 훨씬 쉽습니다. (백업을 암호화된 상태로 유지하고 이 안내의 앞부분에 나오는 자동 방법을 사용하는 것이 더 좋습니다.)
기본 백업 폴더(보통 Windows에서는 C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\, macOS에서는 ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync)로 이동하세요. iPhone Backup Extractor를 실행해 백업을 마우스 오른쪽 버튼으로 클릭한 다음 “Show in Finder” 또는 “Open in Explorer”를 선택해도 백업 폴더가 열립니다.
편집할 파일인 662bc19b13aecef58a7e855d0316e4cf61e2642b의 백업 사본을 만들어 두세요. 문제가 생길 경우를 대비해 사본이 필요합니다.
온라인 SHA-1 해시 생성기로 662bc19b13aecef58a7e855d0316e4cf61e2642b 파일의 해시를 구하고 이 해시를 메모해 두세요. a6533d4dc9ac9f8af7ba65cb955187f025cfde8b와 비슷한 형태이며, 백업마다 값이 다릅니다.

iPhone Backup Extractor의 Plist 편집기로 662bc19b13aecef58a7e855d0316e4cf61e2642b 파일을 여세요. File 메뉴에서 View / Edit Plist을(를) 클릭하고 .plist 파일을 찾아 선택하세요.
파일에서 <key>SBParentalControlsPIN</key> 텍스트가 있는 줄이 이미 있는지 검색하세요. 있다면 그 아래 줄(<string>1234</string>과 비슷한 내용)에 PIN이 들어 있습니다.
해당 줄이 없다면(iOS 5 또는 6 백업에는 없는 것이 정상입니다) <key>SBParentalControlsEnabled</key> 줄을 검색하세요. 그 아래에 보호자 제어가 켜져 있음을 나타내는 <true/> 줄이 있습니다. 이 줄이 없거나 <false/>(이)라고 되어 있다면 보호자 제어가 꺼져 있는 것이므로 PIN을 바꿔도 소용이 없습니다.

SBParentalControlsEnabled 키가 <true/>이라면 “Edit”를 클릭하고 <true/> 줄 바로 아래에 다음 두 줄을 추가하세요.

4단계에서 구한 원래 SHA1 해시를 검색하세요(텍스트 모드가 아닌 16진수 모드에서 검색해야 합니다). com.apple.springboard.plist 또는 비슷한 내용이 보이면 찾던 텍스트가 맞습니다.
이제 까다로운 부분입니다. 이전 16진수 값을 (10단계에서 구한) 새 값으로 덮어써야 합니다. 대부분의 16진수 편집기에서는 이전 값 위에 그대로 입력하면 됩니다.
예를 들어 다음과 같은 내용이 보일 수 있습니다. 72 64 2E 70 6C 69 73 74 FF FF 00 14 38 F1 2D 84 14 0D 32 E3 6E DF D7 62 3F D1 7A 10 11 66 14 70.
바꾸려는 16진수 값이 38F12D84140D32E36EDF이고 이를 1234567890abcdef1234(으)로 바꿔야 한다고 가정해 보겠습니다.
먼저 이전 16진수 문자열의 시작 위치를 찾은 다음 이전 값 위에 새 값을 입력하면 다음과 같은 결과가 됩니다. 72 64 2E 70 6C 69 73 74 FF FF 00 14 12 34 56 78 90 AB CD EF 12 34 D7 62 3F D1 7A 10 11 66 14 70.
수정한 Manifest.mbdb 파일을 저장하세요.
iTunes로 iPhone에 백업을 복원하세요. 수정한 Manifest.mbdb 및 662bc19b13aecef58a7e855d0316e4cf61e2642b 파일을 편집한 뒤 백업 폴더에 직접 저장하지 않았다면, 복원하기 전에 이 파일들을 수정본으로 교체해야 합니다.
복원이 끝나 iPhone이 다시 시작되면 PIN 1234을(를) 사용해 보호자 제어에 접근할 수 있습니다.

Apple은 왜 이 암호를 재설정하거나 비활성화하기 어렵게 만들었나요? 왜 iCloud로는 할 수 없나요?

자녀와 iCloud 가족 공유를 설정하지 않고, 대신 자녀에게 자체 iCloud 계정이 있는 iPhone을 따로 주는 사용자를 고려한 것이라고 생각합니다. 부모를 TouchID나 FaceID에 별도로 등록할 수 없고 자녀는 자신의 iCloud 설정에 완전히 접근할 수 있으므로, 보조 암호가 필요합니다.

학교나 회사 기기처럼 부모라고 할 사람이 없는 여러 기기에 MDM으로 이러한 제한을 일괄 적용할 때도 iCloud 계정보다 암호를 사용하는 편이 유용합니다. 기기를 사용하는 자녀의 접근을 제한하기 위한 용도만은 아닙니다.

@BEJI yes i have used this method with my iphone with iOS v9.3.3 However the plist file didn't have that line of code in it, even though my iphone asked for a passcode like others here have found. You simply add this following line in that com.apple.springboard.plist file: <key>SBParentalControlPIN</key> <string>1234</string> then save it and then restore it to your iphone from within the program you used to extract it. After this, the passcode pin will be 1234. BTW you can use your own 4 digits in the above code, just change the pin in the above code between the <string></string> tags to what ever you want it to be, then use that pin code after it has been added to the com.apple.springboard.plist file, saved and then restored to the iphone. The code is exactly the same as shown in the photo in the above instructions paragraph titled "Viewing the "SBParentalControlsPin" aka the "Restrictions Passcode""

Hi, I use forensic software to examine mobile phones, and can recover the restrictionspassword.plist file with this software. I note that the passcode set for restrictions is not in clear text in this document - does it need to be decrypted? I know what it is as I set it as a test device, but it is not visible in this file. I would be happy to download your software if I can satisfy myself that it would be able to recover the passcode for 'restrictions'

Hi Lisa, you'll see the instructions are a little different for iOS 7 and above. Given the complexity of how it's done, we'd recommend you use iPhone Backup Extractor to automate recovery of the key. Reach out if you need help!

The application worked as explained....but there was no "SBParentalControlsPIN" anywhere. I looked at every "SBParentalControls****" but was not able to find the "PIN" or any 4 digit string of numbers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For those of you on iOS 5.1.1 you can reset your 4-digit Restrictions passcode with very little effort if your device is jailbroke (no reason not to... check out Absinthe to do it). Get yourself a copy of iFile (available through Cydia) and you can do this right from the phone. No PC or other software required. From within iFile you just browse to /var/mobile/Library/Preferences and open com.apple.springboard.plist using the built in text viewer. Click the edit button to make changes, then add the following into a new line: <key>SBParentalControlsPIN</key> <string>1234</string> Save the file changes by selecting Done, then Respring the device. Voila! Your Restrictions passcode is now set to 1234.

Yes, that'd work if you're on a jailbroken iPhone or iPad. Most users aren't, though!

dear Andy (or who ever else might know); I completed all those steps and like an idiot, I didn't read the comments in advance- so no, it doesn't work, because I use software version 5.1. (and I don't have any older backupversions lying around in my pc that I am aware of) instead of just giving me the feckin pin already, it just tells me <key>SBParentalControlsEnabled</key> <bool>True</bool> Is there any new information you could provide me with? I would be loathe to lose all my data in a possibly futile attempt to retrieve this code.

Hi Mi! Instead of doing the patch manually, it might make your life easier if you use iPhone Backup Extractor to do it automatically for you. It'll save time and avoid the risk of a mistake.

this worked amazing i was up to nine failed attempts i was scared i would lock the phone for good and doing the steps took me a minute to figure out how to get the plist to open or save right but i got it thank you so much

Plz Help!! I have updated IOS 5. And have a restrictions code on the iPhone. I got to the com.apple.springboard.plist doc but I cannot find the SBParentalControlsPin in the springboard plist file after upgrading to iOS 5!! Plz help!! Is it not available any more? @Andy plz help you sound smart!!

Hmmm, I cannot find the SBParentalControlsPin in the springboard plist file after upgrading to iOS 5. It seems Apple have removed it for better security. Anybody have a clue on what to do then?

We've tested whether SBParentalControlsPin is still stored in com.apple.springboard.plist file on iOS 5 and found it still is -- if you had updated to iOS 5 then restored data from a previous backup (non-iOS 5). Once removed/re-added iOS 5 no longer stores the restrictions passcode in the com.apple.springboard.plist file. Remember that the SBParentalControlsPin is not present if the backup you are looking at had no SBParentalControlsPin enabled. Do not confuse this with the passcode to access your iPhone when locked. We have noticed during the iOS 5 update that the general Passcode becomes set to disabled and the Restriction Passcode is enabled in some instances. It's a bug in iOS 5, if you've added the Restriction Passcode in the past (even if turned off pre-update) it could turn on. We haven't confirmed this happens if you have never set your Restriction Passcode. You'll see we've updated iPhone Backup Extractor to support this newer version.

@Greg: the instructions will work on iOS 4.3.5, you should see your restrictions pin a few tags above the <locked-unlocked> tags as something like: <key>SBParentalControlsPIN</key> <string>1093</string> Unless you haven't added a restrictions PIN and you are referring to the phone PIN. That's different, and isn't not available to view in the same way.

Worked a charm. It took me a while though to figure it all out, here are some thoughts: You don't need to connect your device to the computer, the program searches and uses your computer's iphone/ipod/ipad backup folder. You don't necessarily need the computer which you normally sync your iPhone/iPod with. Any one with iTunes will do, although you'll have to back up your device to this "new" computer first (just connect it, open iTunes, right click, backup - You won't lose any data) Do the above if you don't see your iPhone on the list in the Extractor Program. You need to have a backup present on this computer, that's what the Extractor Program searches. There are multiple springboard files though, so for those like me who couldn't find it first time, I followed this path: Select your Iphone/Ipod Choose Expert Mode Expand the Library folder Expand the Preferences SubFolder Tickbox the com.apple.springboard.plist Extract to the Desktop (for convenience) Follow the rest of the instructions in the article (Go to the IPBE program again, and now click file, locate the springboard plist file. I had trouble locating it till I realised that it actually lived in the freshly appearing "library" folder on the desktop) View the file, it's near the bottom Great guide, no downloads, no nothing needed, plain and simple.

Tried this, worked BRILLIANTLY. For some reason when I saved it in desktop, the plist wouldnt open, just went to system32. After saving to my documents, tried again, the list came up and there was my code. Thank you. Really, thank you. You've saved me a restore.
