How to use Camo Studio for Apple Vision
Streaming with Camo Studio for Apple Vision
Whether you’re a gamer, prefer just chatting or live stream other content, Camo provides a suite of powerful tools for managing your video, building your scene and streaming directly to your preferred platform. You can create a scene using just the two video source options available in Vision (Persona and View), or by adding an external camera by pairing it with a mobile device running the companion iOS or Android Camo Camera app.
Once you've specified your video sources, you can arrange your scene as you’d like it to appear on your stream. A simple but elegant gaming option - a picture-in-picture arrangement consisting of a full screen of gameplay with a small circular window featuring you - can be found as a default template in the Scenes sidebar on the right of the expanded Camo interface. If you'll be interacting with or playing an app in the Vision environment, just select the primary camera in the tab switcher on the left-hand side, and enable your view as the source in the settings panel.
For the scene window that will feature you, pinch the secondary camera in the tab switcher, and select your Persona as the source. Once you see your picture, you can refine it by selecting different background modes, enabling Spotlight or applying LUT filters.
Now you’re ready to stream. After tapping on the streaming icon in the lower control bar, you can choose and sign into your favourite platform. Once you hit Start, the button will turn red, and you’ll be live on your channel. Note that if one of your sources is the view within the Vision environment, starting your stream will open a window in which you'll need to first select Camo Studio, and then activate the screen capture.
This is streaming at its most basic. If you want to go further, you can use the Scenes gallery to import web-based overlays, or open Stream Panel controls in the lower control bar to monitor active stream elements like chat.
Pro tip: If you're using Camo to stream video while you're interacting in other apps, you may want to drag the Camo interface a bit higher so it doesn't appear in the background of your video. Just note that the virtual camera that's capturing your Persona is aligned with the Camo interface, so that moving the latter will change the viewing angle of the former.
Recording video with Camo Studio for Apple Vision
Recording single or multi-source video on the Vision is simple, and begins with choosing your video sources and then building your scene.
For video, you can use one or both of the Vision's views, pair an iOS or Android device via Camo Camera, or even mix in the Persona of a second Vision running its own Camo Camera app.
For audio, we recommend the excellent microphone on the Vision itself, though connecting a mobile device gives you the option of using its microphone instead.
Once you’ve selected your Persona or connected camera as videos sources, confirmed your audio source, and built your scene (for more on this, see the following section), all that's left is to verify or change your resolution and frame rate, and then begin your recording. After tapping on the record button at the top of the interface, and confirming the destination of your video file (usually your Photos Library or iCloud), simply press the Record button, and the recording will begin.
As with streaming, if one of your sources is the view within the Vision Pro, starting your recording will open a window in which you'll need to first select Camo Studio, and then activate the screen capture before moving back to Camo or another Vision app.
