iPhone Backup Extractor reviews & coverage
Reincubate iPhone Backup Extractor helps people access their data in ways they couldn’t otherwise.
We're grateful for your reviews and stories
Reincubate and iPhone Backup Extractor were born of a passion for helping people access and recover their data, built from the founder’s own need to recover his data. From the very start, we’ve been humbled and inspired by the response to our software.
So many users have shared emotional stories to keep us going, or offered feedback on how we can improve, just as many reporters and sponsors have covered or otherwise helped us. And that’s not to mention the kindness of Apple and Google along the way. Thank you. 🙏
We publish iPhone Backup Extractor, the best tool for helping users recover their data from iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch backups. Our software can rescue photographs, address books, call histories, text messages, voicemail, videos and all sorts of other interesting data. It's used by a wide range of people, from stay-home parents to national crime and forensics centres around the world, and is available in both free and registered versions.
The software was launched in mid-2008 when it was released as a simple script and it was the first tool available for users to recover their data. Since then the complexity of Apple's backup formats has grown steadily, and we've continued to make the software easier and easier to use. iPhone Backup Extractor runs on Windows and macOS, will work with any version of iTunes and any iPhone, iPad or iPod, and can extract data in powerful and flexible formats.
The software has proved particularly useful for users recently where they've been struggling with painful iOS upgrades or downgrades.

After losing all my data on my iPhone 7, due to an encrypted backup in which I didn't not set an encryption key, I cried for days having lost 25,000 photos, all my contacts, voice memos, notes, etc. I reread the Reincubate article. I had read it the first night, but by this time I became desperate enough to reach out. They were able to work with me to recover the password and I was able to restore my data!

Today I thanked God for giving mind to the people who created this program! Thanks to you, I had tears of happiness! All my 33,000 photos have been restored. THANK YOU FROM THE SINCERITY!!! With love from Ukraine!

I lost 10 years of some incredibly important and emotionally significant info when I changed over from an iPhone 11 to a 13Pro and the app that I had been using all these years suddenly disappeared and was nowhere to be found. Contacting Apple was a TOTAL waste of time. I saw the Reincubate program advertised when trying to find a way to get the data back, and man oh man, apparently EVERYTHING could be done!
Writing about Reincubate or iPhone Backup Extractor?
NFR licenses are available to press and for some academic purposes. Let us know if you write something helpful for our users, as we'd love to link to it.
This is why we think what we do matters:
- In a world with increasing concern around tech companies collecting and selling personal data, our products empower individuals to access data held on them by tech companies.
- We pioneered technology that companies are now required to build and adopt to safeguard personal data as a part of GDPR, and have opened our technology for others to build on.
- Reincubate iPhone Backup Extractor was the world’s first consumer tool (2008) for accessing iPhone data, and subsequently the first to introduce encryption support, iCloud access, and an API.
