Here's the seventh public beta of Camo. We've stepped back from doing nightly builds to allow us to focus on a few features.

We've changed how iOS communicates with macOS in this build, so you'll have to upgrade both the iOS app and Camo Studio to use it.

If you've already got Camo Studio, please update it using the "Check for Updates..." option in the main menu. If you don't already have it, you should already have an email from us with a download link. (Check your spam.)

We've not shipped an automated integration with Cisco WebEx Meetings yet. If you can help connect us to the WebEx team that'd be very helpful.

We've started working on a big UI update for the release of macOS 11 Big Sur. Stay tuned for more information.

• Feature We've totally redesigned the welcome screen you see when starting Camo on iOS for the first time.
• Feature The help menu is now done and available from our iOS app. Check it out and see how to get the most out of Camo!
• Feature We've made it so that system menu icon in the top-right of your Mac's screen will always reflect the state of Camo.
• Feature We've released automated integrations for apps, including Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx Teams, and Skype.
• Feature Hue adjustment is now enabled. More coming soon.
• Improvement We've made the iOS app show when it's paused or disconnected more prominently.
• Improvement We've redesigned some parts on the sidebar on macOS, including the addition of a battery icon so you can keep track of your camera's battery level.
• Improvement In-app links now match accent colour on macOS; you'll spot a number of other interface fixes.
• Fix We've totally rewritten the connection between iOS and macOS and how settings are handled. We're keen to know if it addresses any connectivity problems you had before.
• Fix We've resolved a number of camera orientation bugs. If you find more, please let us know!

Today's build marks the sixth public beta of Camo. If you've reached out for help with WebEx integration, we're working on it and hope to have a simple solution for it soon.

• Feature We now have a global hotkey for pausing and resuming your video feed. Try it out: ⌥⇧⌘P and tell us how you feel.
• Feature You can now rotate the video feed from Camo Studio.
• Improvement We've clarified and added some more information on our integrations with other apps. All 40 of them.
• Improvement We've made some small changes to the sidebar and other UI elements.
• Fix We've resolved an issue so that clicking to focus now works while the camera is mirrored.
• Fix We've resolved an issue where disabling video mirroring could act unexpectedly on some lenses.

We're excited to be shipping the fifth public beta of Camo today, opening it up to another 500 people or so. If you're curious, Camo works nicely on the macOS 11 and iOS 14 betas.

• Feature We show app compatibility in the "Integrations" pane. We've also improved the "Getting started" info and links.
• Improvement We've added support for QuickTime Player on macOS 10.15.
• Fix We've resolved with the show / hide menu option.
• Fix We've stopped the selfie camera being listed twice on devices with a TrueDepth front camera running iOS 12. We don't officially support iOS 12, but you should live your best life.
• Fix After a device disconnects from Studio, we now switch to the next available device if there is one, rather than getting into a weird state.
• Fix We've resolved some issues with transfer of settings between the computer and iOS device causing crashes.
• Fix We've made a number of changes to make connections between Camo and Camo Studio more robust. We're really keen to hear more about your experiences here.
• Fix Both sidebars can now be toggled in Camo Studio.
• Fix Camo Studio's preview now centres correctly when one sidebar is shown.

Tonight gives us the fourth public beta of Camo as we open it up to another 550 people. If you're not on the list, please request access, as we'll be opening it up to more and more people every day. This build's a little smaller than usual whilst we work on reliability and stability, and follow along with Apple's WWDC event.

• Fix Camo's update process now works, and won't prompt for a password twice.
• Fix Camo now handles missing system folders during install.
• Fix Fixed a bug where the initial orientation of the device was ignored.
• Fix Fixed a bug where interruptions (like an incoming call) made the camera lens switch. Sorry about this.
• Fix The pause / resume menu option now works.
• Fix We've fixed the iOS onboarding screen's background colour.

This is the third public beta of Camo. We're sharing it with another 749 people tonight. If you're not on the list, please request access, as we'll be opening it up to more and more people every day. This build is full of smaller improvements and bug fixes to get us closer to release.

• Improvement Camo Studio will now remember your settings between sessions.
• Improvement We've added the option to mirror your video.
• Improvement We've fixed the sidebars overlapping the preview in Camo Studio while using Scale to Fit.
• Improvement We've made some changes to the optimised resolutions list for accuracy.
• Improvement We've marked some unfinished features as such to avoid confusion.
• Fix As usual, this build improves performance even more.
• Fix Camo should now reconnect properly after you re-open the iOS app.
• Fix The auto-focus checkbox now works as intended.
• Fix We've improved the overlays shown in video apps when the camera is paused or not connected.
• Fix We've resolved some crashes that iOS users were encountering.
• Fix We've fixed the temporary frame corruption that would appear after unpausing your camera.
• Fix We've removed some small UI glitches.

This is the second public beta of Camo. We're sharing it with another 350 people people tonight. If you're not on the list, please request access, as we'll be opening it up to more and more people every day. If this build goes down well, we'll be working on UI improvements tomorrow.

• Improvement We've made Camo on iOS around 8x faster to connect to Camo Studio.
• Improvement We've fixed Camo Studio's automatic upgrade mechanism. Handy for a second release, wouldn't you say?
• Improvement We've made made the uninstallation mechanism work better. Not sure anyone's tried to use it yet, though.
• Fix We've fixed a problem whereby Camo on iOS would disconnect from Camo Studio.
• Fix We've resolved a crash issue that was affecting a few users on iOS.

Wow, this is our first public beta of Camo. We can't wait to see what you think of it. 🤞

• Feature We've added additional overlays to indicate problem states, and included mirrored text where it's appropriate.
• Feature We've added an easy to use uninstall option.
• Feature The macOS onboarding screen is much nicer. Although not nice enough for a live build.
• Improvement We've made the "Export Logs" feature more obvious in the menus.
• Improvement We show more info about the selected lens.
• Improvement We've tidied up positioning of the Camo watermark.
• Fix We've resolved an issue where video frames were momentarily corrupt when video is paused or resumed.
• Fix Battery status of connected iOS devices now updates correctly.
• Fix Stability improvements.
• Fix Performance improvements.
• Fix We've fixed a problem that was blocking Camo from running on macOS 10.14 and 10.13.

We're at the fourth beta and things are moving along well. Most importantly, we've addressed the big disconnect issue that's been plaguing us. We're expecting to share the next build with the beta list.

• Feature We've added the start of the onboarding window in macOS.
• Improvement We've added a log exporter to the macOS and iOS apps to make troubleshooting easier with testers.
• Improvement We've made a number of enhancements to the protocol used to communicate between devices.
• Improvement We've defaulted Camo Studio to use "Scale to fit".
• Fix We've solved the issue with disconnects during large calls.
• Fix We've resolved a number of issues where the iOS app might lock up the camera view on startup.
• Fix We've resolved a number of camera orientation issues, but there are more to solve.

Today marks the release of our third beta. We're now able to use Camo fairly robustly day to day across the team, with a range of different iOS devices and computers. There's an issue we're due to resolve with disconnects, and that's the main thing between us and sharing with the beta list. We'll be sharing Camo Studio soon!

• Improvement We've more than halved the processing power required by Camo when streaming video.
• Fix We've resolved an issue whereby multiple duplicate Camo Studio windows could open.
• Fix We've resolved a handful of installation issues.

Today marks the release of our second beta. We're going to be sharing Camo soon, but we're a build or two away from that. If you're not requested access, you can sign up here.

• Feature Camo now supports a range of magnification options in its preview.
• Feature Tap to focus now works from Camo Studio on macOS, as well as when tapping the display on iOS.
• Feature Resolution switching now works.
• Feature Installation with Zoom 5.0.5 is automagic.
• Feature Camo now supports iOS 12 devices.
• Improvement Latency is greatly reduced with higher resolutions.

It's that time: we've just dropped the first beta. There's a handful of known issues but this is more robust than last week's build. It's good enough to sit on calls all day with, for the team to use, and for non-technical users to get up and running. Today's update of Camo Studio for Windows brings a big new feature: portrait mode! You can now get that lovely shallow-depth-of-field / bokeh effect in your video with Camo.

• Feature "Portrait mode" is now available for users with the iPhone Xr or newer.
• Improvement We've updated some of Camo Studio's colours in light and dark modes.
• Improvement We've added more screen-reader support, with login errors now being shown to them.
• Fix We're including a fix for the dependancy installer we use.
• Fix Click-to-focus is no longer mirrored for some users.
• Fix We've resolved a strange crash that some users had in dark mode.
• Fix We've also resolved a number of crashes caused where configuration is in an unexpected state.
