Camo 1.0.7.71 released

4 mejoras 4 arreglos

Life's been busy at Reincubate Towers as we work our way to the Camo 1.1 update. We've got a lot of neat things in the oven, waiting to come out. On that note, today marks the start of our private beta of Camo Studio for Windows. If you're interested in trying it out, you can get on the list here.

In the meantime, here's Camo Studio 1.0.7 for macOS, with more supported apps and a number of important quality of life fixes. If you run into any problems, please reach out to us at support@reincubate.com. We'd love to help and hear from you.

  • Improvement We've added compatibility notes for Loom and vMix, and added a solution for using Photo Booth.
  • Improvement Although Camo Studio doesn't mention it in its compatibility section, this update includes a number of tweaks to work with Panopto, our new unofficial BFFs. 🤝 Panopto doesn't support changes in aspect ratio (ie. 16:9 to 4:3, or portrait to landscape), but short of that things should be looking good. Please let us know how you get on with it. Maybe we can make things official with a follow-up next week.
  • Improvement Camo Studio's side-bar sections are now collapsible. You can collapse them to make room for something. What, though? I suppose you'll find out in a few updates' time.
  • Improvement We changed a number of things behind the scenes which should come into play when we ship the next Camo update on iOS.
  • Fix Camo wasn't working with recording to iMovie or Final Cut Pro. Now it does. Hurrah. 🎉
  • Fix Some users reported audio latency when using Camo to record in QuickTime or ScreenFlow. We've resolved that. We've still got some bumps to smooth out here, but you should have a better experience now.
  • Fix Our integration with Hand Mirror was broken in the last release. Sorry. We've fixed that now.
  • Fix Our license dialog did some slightly unintuitive things which we've fixed.

We've been hard at work on Camo over the last few weeks, getting closer our major 1.1 update. In the meantime, we've prepared this update to make Camo Studio more intuitive, and to resolve a small number of issues. We've not forgotten about presets, either — we want to make sure we get them just right, and they're not. Yet.

If you run into any problems, please reach out to us at support@reincubate.com. We'd love to help and hear from you.

  • Improvement We've added compatibility notes for another 8 apps: CloudApp, Pearl, Pexip, Hand Mirror, Wirecast, RingCentral, YouTube and Panopto. We support 7 of those 8: if you know anyone at Panopto, please drop them a note on our behalf. Compatibility notes have been updated for Camtasia, and for QuickTime on Big Sur.
  • Improvement Camo Studio's "Help" button is now called "Help & Integrations". It looks a bit less flash, but it's easier to find!
  • Improvement We note that some USB hubs can cause connection issues in Camo Studio's main screen. More here.
  • Improvement It was only 6 versions ago we wrote that a competitor copied the ID we use for Camo Studio, preventing it from working whilst both were installed. It's happened again. The price of being popular, eh? We've updated our ID again.
  • Fix We've resolved a problem where older devices running iOS 12 (particularly the iPhone 5s, iPad Mini 2, and iPad Air 1) could encounter half of the image being chopped off. This version of Camo Studio includes a fix for that, but you'll need an updated version of Camo on your iOS device. That version (1.0.6) will be made available to our beta testers today, and should go live to all users later this week assuming that beta goes well.
  • Fix The "Help" link in the Camo Studio installation dialog didn't go to the right place. Sorry. We've fixed that.
  • Fix We've resolved a bug in Camo Studio that could crash it in unusual cases.
  • Fix We've fixed an even less common bug which could cause strange image corruption. We didn't have a single user report of this, so possibly we only managed to trigger it in the lab. 🤷‍♂️

Another day, another Camo Studio update. This update is preparing us for an update to the iOS app that's coming soon. It also updates compatibility information for 10 apps.

If you run into any problems, please reach out to us at support@reincubate.com. We'd love to help and hear from you.

  • Improvement Camo Studio is now much clearer about what to do if you connect an iOS device running a version of Camo that's too old or too new.
  • Improvement We've added compatibility information for Camtasia, Flipgrid, Stream.club, Tuple, Zoho Meeting, Jio Meet, Meet Butter, and Macro. We support most of these — if you use one we don't support, please reach out to them!
  • Fix We've noted QuickTime in Big Sur's latest beta doesn't support Camo Studio. We're working on this. We've also dropped compatibility with Skype for Business. We can't make it work consistently for enough users yet.

We're starting the week with an update to address a problem with disconnects that some users have run into. Please let us know if you experience any problems. We're going to be shipping a number of additional updates later this week.

If you run into any problems, please reach out to us at support@reincubate.com. We'd love to help and hear from you.

  • Improvement We renamed Exposure duration to Shutter speed. Thanks, experts! (ISO will be coming back soon.)
  • Fix When Camo Studio wasn't in the foreground, macOS would sometimes put it to sleep. This made disconnects more likely to occur.
  • Fix We've made the resolution default to 720p for new, unlicensed users.

Today's beta for Camo includes a number of tweaks as we approach launch day. We're not quite there with presets, but we're going to follow up with them soon.

If you've already got Camo Studio, please update it using the "Check for Updates..." option in the main menu. If you don't already have it, you should already have an email from us with a download link. (Check your spam.)

  • Feature We've totally reworked auto-focus. It was driving us crazy. It was driving you crazy. Now we think it's kinda cool. What do you think? You can let the phone figure it out. Or you can focus on a point. Or you can manually control focus.
  • Feature Licensing is now enabled — you must activate Camo to get to the Pro features.
  • Feature We now automatically load Camo Studio when you try to use the camera, so you don't need to run it in advance. Thoughts?
  • Improvement We've disabled logging by default. This means there's less for your phone to do. If you run into problem, you can enable logging using your iPhone or iPad's Settings menu.
  • Improvement We've added proper automated error reporting to Camo. This'll make it easier for us to diagnose problems from afar.
  • Improvement We've added some notes on Firefox compatibility. It can't handle switching away from 1080p. Guess they like it.
  • Improvement Added integration for Amazon Chime, Screen.so.
  • Improvement Added compatibility note for mmhmm. We support it.
  • Improvement A competitor joined our beta, copied a unique ID we put in Camo, and put it in their app. Meaning that if you had both installed at the same time, neither would work. We've changed it so this won't happen in future. Unless they copy us again.
  • Improvement We've updated the acknowledgements. We'll be putting translators here soon!
  • Fix Overlay corruption issue is fixed. You should see no more wonky graphics when paused.
  • Fix Recording with ScreenFlow and QuickTime Player is fixed. Sorry about that.
  • Fix Reconnecting a paused device to Camo now shows a nice message, not a throbber.

It's time for another Camo update. This one's just for iOS. We've fixed a crash caused by extreme ISO settings, and we've stopped the temperature and tint sliders from doing the Wrong Thing™.

  • Fix Setting extreme ISO settings before switching lenses no longer crashes Camo on iOS.
  • Fix Temperature and tint no longer just make you green. Some people like being green, if you do, setting the hue to 103° is still an option.

Camo 1.0.1.47 released

Well, that was quick: the ninth public beta of Camo. We've fixed a crash caused by lots of fiddling with the image sliders.

If you've already got Camo Studio, please update it using the "Check for Updates..." option in the main menu. If you don't already have it, you should already have an email from us with a download link. (Check your spam.)

  • Feature If you bought Camo Pro in the pre-sale, you can now disable the watermark. (And thank you!)
  • Feature Rotation support. It took us long enough. Sorry! (Though don't forget, you can get this natively if you turn off "orientation lock".)
  • Improvement We've made the orientation rotation slightly more graceful.
  • Fix We've fixed a crash caused by extreme ranges in the tint and temperature sliders.

Camo 1.0.1.46 released

It's time for the eighth public beta of Camo, and an important milestone: this build is pretty much feature-complete. We've got lots to polish, and a handful of bugs, but we're getting there.

We've changed how iOS communicates with macOS in this build, so you'll have to upgrade both the iOS app and Camo Studio to use it.

If you've already got Camo Studio, please update it using the "Check for Updates..." option in the main menu. If you don't already have it, you should already have an email from us with a download link. (Check your spam.)

We've not shipped an automated integration with Cisco WebEx Meetings yet. If you can help connect us to the WebEx team that'd be very helpful.

  • Feature Add brightness, saturation, hue, exposure duration, gamma sliders. Oh, and they show you what the phone does automatically, too.
  • Feature Pan and zoom support.
  • Feature Camo supports cheat codes. Put a famous cheat code into Camo Studio and maybe something will happen. We woke up one morning and this commit was in the repo.
  • Feature We've added ICQ to the integration list.
  • Feature We've added the licensing UI. It works.
  • Improvement We don't dumbly let you click "Install Integration" if it's already been done.
  • Improvement We've updated the GoToMeeting text to describe how to workaround a problem it has.
  • Improvement We've tidied up the onboarding window for iPad users.
  • Improvement We've added our iPhone mounting guide to the help screen.
  • Improvement We're rearranged a huge amount of things to make this build possible!
  • Improvement We've changed the default Camo Studio mode to be "scale to fill".
  • Fix We've resolved a problem installing Camo when it's already in "Applications". Sorry about that.
  • Fix We've change the FPS dropdown to a label.
  • Fix We've partly fixed the crazy auto-focus problem, but we're afraid there's still more to fix.
